Pyractive Training Camp 2010

A Spanish Spring Camp Invite from Pyractive

Hi Folks,

With "the snow knee deep in places" throughout the UK this weekend, we thought it might be timely to entice you with thoughts of sun, mountains, bicycles, maybe a little sangria and paella...........we're ready to head to Spain for a while next spring!

Our base will be inland from Alicante, offering an excellent mix of easy airport access & transfers, good riding (it's Valverde & Luis Leon Sanchez training territory over the winter) and one of the best regional climates in Spain.

We'll be staying in a lovely villa, with superb views and it's own private pool & 'lounging-around' terraces.  So if you intend to 'go hard' on the bike, you'll be guaranteed a restful time off it.  Helen will be studying her Spanish recipe book so she can add a touch of local authenticity to the menu and I'll be making sure we have a good knowledge of the road network and the best rides so that you don't have to waste time working out where to go.

We promised that we'd be aiming to keep the price of the trip below 500 euros per person and we've managed to do just that.  As per a Bertren holiday, we'll 'eat out' on two evenings just so we can see a little of the local culture, but with 7 breakfasts, 5 evening meals and airport transfers included, the trip will be priced at 490 euros per person.

For those that qualify  for our 'Loyalty Rewards' scheme (10% off for those of you who rode with us in 2008 or 2009) that would bring the price down to 441 euros each.

We've taken an 'option' on the accommodation to allow us to consider being based there for two weeks - the
20th-27th March and the 27th March - 3rd April.   As long as we can recruit 6 riders each week, we'll set up both trips.  However, if one or other week doesn't give us the chance to reach a 'critical mass', then we'll have to stick to just a single trip in the more popular week.

One or two people have also mentioned half-term week (20th-27th February) as having some appeal and we'll gladly explore that option if we can reach the '6-rider cut-off'.

For the busier week (if we run two in late March) we will have an accredited coach joining us, who can provide advice, 'bike fitting' assessments or a full training plan, if those are services which might inspire your riding through the latter part of the season.

Alicante airport can be reached by flights from the following airports in the UK & Ireland (that we're aware of): Gatwick, Bristol, Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Belfast, Stansted, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Dublin & Shannon.  So, hopefully, something fairly convenient for everyone?

If you'd be interested in joining us, then please can you let us know your preferred dates ASAP - we need to let Mr Valverde and the Boys know we're coming!

All the best,

Chris & Helen
